Capital Dance

Capital Dance is a UK national commercial digital radio station, broadcasting live from Global Media & Entertainment’s headquarters in Leicester Square, London, via DAB+ and high-quality web streams. Launched on 1 October 2020, this English-language electronic dance music hub targets young adults and clubbers aged 18 to 34 with high-energy house, tech house and UK garage.

Daytime shows focus on accessible vocal tracks before the schedule shifts into club sets later on. Charlie Powell hosts the Breakfast show, with daytime slots covered by Zofia and Sarah Devine. MistaJam presents Drive, while Max Tyler and Hannah Rose take over Club Capital Dance. Evenings also include resident sets like Meduza and James Hype’s OUR HOUSE recorded at Hï Ibiza.

The playlist relies on high-energy vocal house, heavy basslines and current dance reworks. Core artists in regular rotation include Calvin Harris, John Summit and MistaJam. This makes it an easy choice for workouts, commutes or weekend pre-drinks without needing to skip tracks. Industry recognition includes lead host MistaJam holding an ARIAS Music Broadcaster of the Year title alongside regular station nominations.

Against public alternatives like BBC Radio 1 Dance, Capital Dance plays a tighter, chart-focused selection mixed with commercial breaks. Compared to commercial peers like KISS Dance, it prioritises current releases over older 90s or 00s nostalgia.
